StephanieY. WuAttorneyModesto Office Stephanie Y. Wu is an Associate in the Modesto office of Borton Petrini, LLP. Stephanie graduated from California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), San Luis Obispo in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and minors in Psychology and International Politics. During that time, she served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children and volunteered at a local hospital. Stephanie went on to earn her Juris Doctorate degree from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2009, where she was a member of both the National Trial Competition Team and the National Moot Court Competition Team. Additionally, Stephanie was a member of the External Honors Moot Court Board, and served as Comments Editor for the nationally-ranked Santa Clara University Computer and High Technology Law Journal. While she was a law student, Stephanie also worked at eBay, Inc. as a litigation extern in the legal department, where she also handled matters for StubHub, Skype, and PayPal. During law school, Stephanie was awarded Best Oral Advocate in Appellate Advocacy, and earned a CALI Award for Excellence in Entertainment and Media Law. Stephanie also studied Jurisprudence as a visiting scholar at Oxford University, Magdalen College. Stephanie has handled matters at all phases of litigation, from inception to trial and appeal. She brings a wide variety of experience to the Firm in general civil litigation, including employment and labor litigation, insurance defense, personal injury, business and commercial litigation, contract law, trust litigation, products liability, and professional liability. Stephanie also has experience in appellate practice, including the preparation of civil appellant and respondent’s briefs, and the presentation of oral argument before the appellate court. Stephanie’s practice currently includes the representation of both plaintiffs and defendants. As a result, Stephanie possesses a thorough and comprehensive understanding of both sides’ legal strategy, which allows her to effectively anticipate and defend against such tactics. Stephanie is currently a member of the Stanislaus County Bar Association, and has been involved with Beyer High School’s mock trial team program as a coach. Stephanie was born in Texas, but was raised in California’s Central Valley. Outside of the office, Stephanie likes playing soccer and tennis, skiing, reading, and takes particular enjoyment in eating (not cooking) good food. |
