Gary WilmotPartnerSan Diego Office Gary L. Wilmot is a Partner in the San Diego office of Borton Petrini, LLP. After graduating from the San Diego Police Academy, and a tour of duty as a San Diego Police Officer specializing in traffic collision investigation, Mr. Wilmot completed his studies at San Diego State University and worked as a software engineer for General Dynamics Space Systems Division designing flight software for expendable space launch vehicles. As General Dynamics was winding down operations in San Diego, he attended Thomas Jefferson School of Law where he clerked for the Honorable Victor E. Bianchini. Gary relies on his past education and experience in handling complex technical cases, commercial and construction litigation, product defect claims, and has defended patent infringement and intellectual property claims. His understanding of vehicle dynamics and traffic collision investigation and reconstruction have assisted him in the handling of commercial transportation litigation. Gary is well versed in alcohol beverage control law and has represented numerous retail and wholesale businesses with license issues, from the application process to defense of code violations. As a commercial pilot and flight instructor, Gary has a thorough understanding of FAA regulations and has been involved in aircraft accident investigations and airmen certificate hearings. Gary has brought his knowledge and experience to the community through his teaching of business law at National University in San Diego, and as a coach of youth basketball and soccer. Gary is married to Debra. They have one daughter, Christina, and a playful Doberman, Sierra. |
