Waterman is the Managing Attorney in Borton Petrini, LLP’s Fresno office, which services Madera, Kern, Tulare, Kings, Mono, Inyo, San Luis Obispo, and Fresno counties among others. John earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon, and then went on to receive his J.D., at Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco, California where he emphasized in trial advocacy and mock trial and was active as an elected member of the Student Bar Association. John specializes in civil litigation involving personal injury defense, catastrophic injury defense, property and contract issues, construction defect, trucking, toxic tort defense, employment law, products liability, and premise liability. John litigates both general and complex civil cases. John also handles estate planning and business law matters including the formation of corporations and limited liability companies. John is experienced in mediations and jury trials. John was raised in the culturally and socially diverse Bay Area of Northern California, which has provided him with a broad base of life experiences that he applies to his legal practice. During law school, John was an intern at the United States Attorney’s Oakland Office working on criminal matters and was able to appear in Federal Court at an early stage of his career. John went on to become a civil trial attorney practicing throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. As an associate attorney in Northern California, John served as counsel for many insurance companies and was responsible for defending lawsuits through trial. John’s clients come to him for the defense of contract and tort liability ranging from agricultural and property matters to product liability and medical malpractice cases. He works to consistently broaden his areas of practice and enjoys the challenges of his profession. John represents his clients aggressively while still maintaining a sense of practicality and the desired results of the client. John is a member of the State Bar of California and Fresno County Bar Association. John is also a member of the PROOF BNI chapter in Fresno and represents Borton Petrini, LLP in the Fresno Chamber of Commerce. John was previously elected to sit on the Board of one of the top credit unions in Northern California where he served two years prior to moving to Fresno. In his spare time, John has coached high school and youth soccer teams. |
