John K. PeltierBakersfield Office John K. Peltier is the Managing Attorney in the Bakersfield office of Borton Petrini, LLP. John graduated from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 1977 with a National Diploma in Computer Programming and Systems Technology. He worked in the computer industry for five years as a computer programmer and systems designer. John was the Systems Manager for the British Columbia Development Corporation from 1980 through 1982 when he decided to return to the University of British Columbia. John received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature in 1984 and entered the Faculty of Law, competing in the Jessup Moot Competition and graduating with an LL.B. in 1987. John was an Associate with Farris, Vaughn, Wills and Murphy in Vancouver, British Columbia from 1987 to 1990, where he practiced business and general civil litigation. He moved to Modesto, California in 1990, and from 2000 through June 2010 John was the Business Manager for Damrell, Nelson, Schrimp, Pallios, Pacher & Silva in Modesto, and practiced business litigation, including complex and class action litigation, as well as business formation, consultation and development. John brings more than 20 years of experience to Borton Petrini, LLP. John is a founder, former Director and past-President of Naartjie Custom Kids, Inc., a Delaware corporation which designs and produces a line of children’s clothing which is sold through an extensive chain of retail stores across the United States and in the Republic of South Africa. He is also a Director of and General Counsel for the Solomon Wine Company. John has always been active in his community. He is a 20-year member of the Modesto 500 Lions Club and past-President and member of the Board of Directors of both the Townsend Opera Players and Doctors Medical Center Foundation. John is married to Alison Peltier, an elementary school teacher in Ceres, California. They have two children, Ian, a student at the University of British Columbia, and Olivia, a student in the International Baccalaureate Program at Modesto High School. |
