Daniel L. MorganSenior CounselSan Bernardino Office Daniel L. Morgan is Senior Counsel with the San Bernardino office of Borton Petrini, LLP, where he practices in the areas of business litigation, insurance defense, and family law. Mr. Morgan received his undergraduate degree from California State University, Long Beach. He obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law, Fayetteville. In law school he wrote extensively on water law for an undergraduate agriculture law textbook. Mr. Morgan began his legal career as a legal services attorney working in family law, representing the indigent and elderly in Riverside and San Bernardino counties, and working with the community. He entered private practice in the Coachella Valley handling family law and personal injury cases. Based on his background in business, he began representing and advising small businesses. He continues working in the fields of family law and business representation. In 1999, Mr. Morgan began representing law enforcement agencies in civil rights and excessive force defense cases pursuant to 42USC1983, mainly in U.S. District Court, Central District. These cases involved K-9 excessive force, search and seizure issues, and shootings. In 2002, Mr. Morgan expanded his practice to include insurance and municipality defense. During this time he handled many catastrophic injury cases including traumatic brain injury and death. Most of these lawsuits were dangerous condition of public property cases. |
