Rosemarie S. LewisPartnerLos Angeles Office Rosemarie S. Lewis is the Managing Partner of Borton Petrini, LLP’s Los Angeles and Orange County offices. She did her undergraduate work at the University of Southern California and received her J.D. from Western State University in 1991 with an emphasis in tax law. Her law school honors include moot court awards for “Best Brief,” and she served internships in the California Attorney General’s office, as well as with the Orange County District Attorney. Rosemarie is a specialist in some of the more unusual cases that come along, such as concert promoter negligence (including “crowd surfing” and other crowd control issues) and defending serious personal injury claims involving third party criminal acts, premises liability and S.I.U. litigation. Rosemarie’s practice has given her experience in several categories. She handles employment law cases, defending discrimination, wrongful termination and sexual harassment claims. She advises companies on relevant areas of employment litigation including workplace violence and pre-litigation investigation. She frequently speaks on such relevant topics as pre-litigation investigation and the attorney-client privilege, workplace violence prevention and employer liability prevention. She has tried numerous products liability cases involving catastrophic injuries. Her construction defect cases have involved both developers and general contractors and have dealt with such issues as roofing, sheet-metal, concrete, plumbing, and pools. She has handled professional liability cases pertaining to architect errors and omissions, director and officer liability. She serves in the Judge Pro Tem program in the Superior Courts, acting as a temporary judge. Rosemarie belongs to several professional organizations, including the State Bar of California, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Orange County Bar Association, the Mexican-American Bar Association, Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, the Southern California Defense Counsel, and the Hispanic National Bar. She still stays active with her Alma Mater through her membership in USC’s Alumni Association, USC’s Mexican-American Alumni Association, and USC Commerce Associates. Rosemarie’s community service endeavors include volunteering her efforts toward causes for children. As the mother of two children, she volunteers at her children’s school. She and her family enjoy sports, golf, travel, piano, and USC football. Rosemarie is married to Jeffrey Lewis, and their two children are Casey and Evan. |
